Exercise for Dogs!

Exercise is a very important part of a dog's daily routine.

Exercise is a very important part of a dog's daily routine. It helps you too!
Ever feel like your dog has an endless amount of energy & is repeating bad behaviors? It could be due to lack of exercise. But don’t worry, we are here to help with some examples of how you can be exercising your dog:

-LEASHED WALKS
being on a leash doesn’t come naturally to most dogs. Bring some treats on your walk and train your dog on different commands as you go. This will exercise them both physically & mentally!

-HIDE & SEEK
Hide toys, treats, or yourself and let your dog go find it! This is another great mental & physical exercise.

-OBSTACLE COURSE
Set up some things for your dog to jump over, jump onto, walk around, and walk under! Your dog will have fun with the variety. This one may take some time for your dog to get the hang of but don’t give up!

-PUZZLES
Whether you buy it from a pet store (I hear Newfound Pet Center is a great one) or make one yourself, puzzles are a great resource to get your dog’s brain working!
If the puzzle is too easy, it won’t be fun for your dog.

-TRAINING
This one’s pretty self-explanatory but having a training session with your dog can tire them out mentally which will have them resting after. Try some treats you know they’ll love to keep them interested.
Dogs need a lot of exercise DAILY! The exact amount varies on the dog but try to aim for an hour or more. We hope these were some helpful tips & let us know how your dog's next exercise goes!
